About Dr S Mohsen Khorshid

Dr S Mohsen Khorshid’s work involves the clinical and microscopic diagnosis and management of patients with all forms of skin disorders. He has conducted research into specific aspects of dermatology, particularly various forms of skin cancer, as these are his specific interests.
 
Dr Khorshid started his dermatology training in Iran in 1990 and completed it in London in 1998. In England, he trained at St John’s Institute of Dermatology and then continued as registrar at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals completing his final year of training at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
 
In 1996 Mohsen Khorshid was elected as a diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists. This, together with his training in general dermatology and dermatological surgery, has enabled him to provide a comprehensive service to his private practice patients.

Research Interests: Skin Cancers, Pre-Cancerous Skin Lesions, Surgical & Non Surgical Treatments, Photodynamic Therapy, Topical Chemotherapy, Mole Screening, Dermatopathology, Teledermatology.

Consultant Dermatologist, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Honorary Senior Lecturer in Dermatopathology, Barts Health and Queen Mary College.

Personal Profile:
As a father of three children, I spend most of my free time with my family. I am a keen photographer and particularly enjoy exploring cultural monuments, focusing mainly on architecture.
I am a Consultant Dermatologist and served as the Clinical Lead for Dermatology Services for South Essex, based at the Arthur Rook Centre for Dermatology, Basildon Hospital for over 10 years. I have also worked at Barts Health and Queen Mary College as a Senior Lecturer in Dermatopathology since 1998.
